Your mission

As Senior Financial Controller at Rail-Flow, you play a key role in ensuring the quality and discipline of our financial controlling and reporting. You drive the monthly closing process, provide actionable insights for management, and continuously improve our financial processes and tools.

Investor & C-Level Reporting: You are responsible for preparing and delivering reports for investors and executive management. You establish and maintain a company-wide KPI dashboard and prepare financial data and presentations for advisory board meetings.
KPI Provision & Data Quality:You deliver meaningful KPIs, analyses, and reports for management and sales steering, ensuring data quality and consistency in all relevant systems.
Process Optimization & Compliance:You analyze monthly financial results, optimize and monitor financial processes, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Cost Control & Contribution Margin Accounting:You support the development and enhancement of cost control and contribution margin accounting, providing transparency and actionable recommendations.
Business Planning & Analytical Model Development:You support integrated business planning, coordinate the annual business plan with departments, and develop analytical models to support forward-looking financial management.

Your profile

You have a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
You bring several years (typically 3–5+) of experience in financial controlling and reporting—ideally in an international environment
You possess solid knowledge of international accounting standards and have experience with accounting processes and financial tools (e.g. Exact, Oracle Apex, PowerBI, Claude)
You have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in both Dutch and English, as well as a high level of process and deadline discipline
Ideally, you are located in or near Rotterdam

Als Senior Financial Controller bij Rail-Flow speel je een sleutelrol in het waarborgen van de kwaliteit en discipline van onze financiële controlling en rapportage. Je stuurt het maandafsluitingsproces aan, levert bruikbare inzichten voor het management en verbetert continu onze financiële processen en tools.

Investor- en C-level-rapportage
Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het voorbereiden en opleveren van rapportages voor investeerders en het executive management. Je richt een bedrijf brede KPI‑dashboard in en onderhoudt dit, en je bereidt financiële data en presentaties voor vergaderingen van de adviesraad voor.
KPI‑voorziening en datakwaliteit
Je levert betekenisvolle KPI’s, analyses en rapporten voor management- en salessturing, waarbij je de datakwaliteit en consistentie in alle relevante systemen waarborgt.
Procesoptimalisatie en compliance
Je analyseert de maandelijkse financiële resultaten, optimaliseert en monitort financiële processen en zorgt voor naleving van interne en externe vereisten.
Kostenbeheersing & dekkingsbijdrage‑rekening
Je ondersteunt de ontwikkeling en verbetering van kostenbeheersing en dekkingsbijdrageboekhouding (contribution margin accounting) en levert transparantie en concrete aanbevelingen.
Businessplanning & ontwikkeling van analytische modellen
Je ondersteunt geïntegreerde businessplanning, stemt het jaarlijkse businessplan af met de afdelingen en ontwikkelt analytische modellen ter ondersteuning van toekomstgerichte financiële sturing.

Jouw profiel

Afgeronde opleiding in Finance, Accounting, Bedrijfseconomie of een aanverwant vakgebied.
Meerdere jaren ervaring (typisch 3–5+) in financial controlling en reporting, bij voorkeur in een internationale omgeving.
Grondige kennis van internationale boekhoudstandaarden en ervaring met accountingprocessen en financiële tools (bijv. Exact, Oracle APEX, Power BI, Claude).
Sterke analytische, organisatorische en communicatieve vaardigheden in zowel Nederlands als Engels, met een hoge mate van proces- en deadlinediscipline.
Bij voorkeur woonachtig in (de regio) Rotterdam.
